Drug peddler’s property attached in Srinagar: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNO): Police in Srinagar on Friday said to have attached the property of a drug peddler, which comprises movable assets in the form of vehicle, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 lakhs. The vehicle was acquired through the sale of illicit drugs and substances by drug peddler namely Javid Ahmad Wani son of Ali Mohammad resident of Gasoo Hazratbal who is involved in case FIR No. 27/24 U/S 8/20, 21 NDPS of PS Zakoora, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The property was seized under the provisions of section 68 F of the NDPS Act with confirmation from the administrator and competent authority SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators- Forfeiture of Property Act), New Delhi, police said. “J&K Police reaffirms its commitment to protecting the community from the dangers of drug abuse and pledge to continue taking stringent action against those involved in this illegal trade. Public cooperation is crucial in this fight, and anyone with information about drug-related activities is urged to contact the nearest police station,” the statement reads—(KNO)
